Les missions du poste
La mission
The company :
Hepta Medical is a French medical device company developing an minimally-invasive treatment for lung cancer. Their device is a flexible microwave ablation probe which can BE introduced in the patient's lung through the airway to locally ablate and destroy the tumor. During the procedure, their system is capable of locally measuring the temperature to monitor the size of the ablation zone, resulting in safer and more efficienttreatments.
After successfully raising its SERIES A, the company is expanding its team to initiate its clinical operations.Your missions :
Their ablation probe embarks a temperature sensor leveraging the principle of microwave radiometry to make remote tissue temperature measurements directly from the probe. The data collected by the sensor is combined with procedural CT images to display in real-time the growth of the ablation through a proprietary predictive software.
Your role will BE to develop in-house expertise about several scientific problems :
- Microwave radiometry in collaboration with the inventor of the technology;
- Clinical thermal ablation procedures using microwave energy;
- Digital twin modelling based on patients' CT scans;
- Multi-physics simulation to model our device in-vivo based on patients' anatomy.
Your missions will include :
- Develop in-silico, ex-vivo and in-vivo experimental protocols;
- Analyze the data generated;
- Write scientific papers in collaboration with top academic centers;
- Contribute to cross-projects into the company.
What they can offer :
- Exciting growth opportunities within a fast-growing, high-potential company
- The chance to contribute to a highly ambitious project with real-world impact
- A tight-knit, passionate team - like a small family - with strong cohesion and mutual support
- Inspiring managers eager to share their knowledge and help you grow fast, both technically and personally
- A truly international environment, with clinical trials across Europe
The profile they're looking for :
- PhD in bioengineering, biophysics, or any other field relevant to HEPTA's activities
- Thesis related to engineering, ideally with a medical application, combining data analysis and hands-on experimental work in the lab
- Solid general engineering training, ideally from a top-tier French engineering school (following classe préparatoire)
- Proven coding skills and a strong appetite for data analysis
- Previous experience with high-power RF systems, embedded electronics, and/or thermometry would BE a strong plus
- Capacity to quickly dive into new technical domains and learn independently
- Autonomous, fast learner with a strong entrepreneurial mindset
- Ability to apply rigorous and independent design thinking
- Excellent team fit and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English, French is a plus
