Main Duties
Technical work to develop and generate Aerodynamic designs
o For new steam turbine blading
o For continuous performance improvement of existing turbine blading
o For other products (diffuser, valves, steam ejectors...)
o introducing new design processes
Provide professional technical engineering services for :
o Steam Turbines products (including Nuclear, and Service/Retrofit applications) and technology development (R&D)
o The execution of projects or work packages for Steam Turbines or other Arabelle Solution businesses/activities
o Projects or work packages for external customers
Understand and use the internal procedures and processes (Engineering Process, Quality, etc.) :
o Provide feedback and undertake actions for process improvements.

Responsibilities
To satisfy performance and mechanical integrity criteria whilst generating aerodynamic integral airfoil designs within the in-house tools suite you :
o Design blade profile sections and define its radial stacking
o Improve profile performance based on a blade to blade streamline method
o Assess mechanical integrity (mean stresses, peak stresses and frequencies) based on integrated lean methods
You stay in continuous exchange and interface to the Mechanical-, the Design- and the thermodynamic-department
Apply 3D-CFD methods (ANSYS-CFX, Cadence-Numeca) to assess the multistage turbine performance characteristic and provide input for cycle performance prediction
For the diffusor and exhaust at the exit of the low pressure turbine you :
o Generate aerodynamic diffuser designs
o Generate CFD meshes (ICEM, AUTOGRID, ANSYS-Mesh) for complex blade (shrouds, mid span connectors) and full exhaust geometries
o Run 3D RANS CFD to predict the exhaust recovery characteristic
You are responsible for the technical quality of your work
Continuously develop your own technical expertise.
You may BE asked to act as a reviewer (e.g. at a design, risk or project review) in your area of expertise.
