Job Title
Regional Accounting Senior Manager
This role guides the preparation, review, and submission of local statutory accounts across multiple countries, supporting compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for Europe and Africa. It also supports the integrity of monthly financial close processes, coordinates audit activities, and encourages harmonization across regional finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide the preparation and submission of local statutory accounts for all regional entities, and coordinate internal and external financial audits.
- Support monthly close processes, focusing on accuracy and completeness of financial statements, and prioritize accounting risk management.
- Participate in company projects (such as mergers, acquisitions, and liquidations), oversee actuarial valuations and consolidation of sub-groups, and collaborate on vendor negotiations and contract reviews.
- Research and resolve a variety of accounting transactions, and contribute to the definition and improvement of corporate policies.
- Guide and support regional accounting teams, encourage collaboration across finance areas and business units, and support ongoing training and development.
About the ideal candidate
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience; additional qualifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), or similar are beneficial.
- Experience guiding teams in accounting environments (debt, credit, financial statements) within multinational environments, with audit experience.
- Experience with SAP/4 HANA and Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP).
- Good problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Integrity, accountability, and a focus on improvement; effective communication skills and ability to work with colleagues across departments and cultures.
- Proficiency in English required; proficiency in French or Spanish is beneficial.
