Global Project Lead Buyer acts as the key liaison between the Procurement Department and internal project teams. This role is critical in ensuring the success and performance of assigned projects while maintaining full compliance with procurement processes and best practices.
The position guarantees the suitability of the supplier panel and integrates procurement strategy within the project strategy, considering project-specific constraints and requirements
Main Responsibilities:
1. Strategy and Purchasing Management
o Define Sourcing Strategies: Develop purchasing strategies based on internal stakeholders' needs and business orientations, intervening from the proposal phase through to project execution.
o Planning and Coordination: Implement a sourcing/procurement plan consistent with technical, industrial, and purchasing category strategies. Ensure coordination of purchasing within the department and subsidiaries.
o Risk Management: Establish risk management mapping and relevant mitigation plans for each project.
2. Purchasing Execution
o Process Supervision: Oversee the execution of the purchasing process, from specification definition to supplier contractualization.
Build and animate the supplier relationship
o Coordination with Category Lead Buyers: Lead and coordinate Category Lead Buyers in sourcing and Request for Quotation (RFQ) activities to ensure alignment with project goals and strategies. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among Category Lead Buyers to optimize sourcing outcomes.
o Monitoring and Supplier Engagement: Track purchasing activities throughout contract execution until project delivery. Engage with suppliers actively and manage claims processes and managerial escalation principles to resolve issues effectively.
o Budget and Competitiveness: Drive and secure the sourcing budget achievement on time for the project, promoting cost competitiveness tools (benchmark, should cost...).
o Contractual Compliance: Promote and secure the application of contractual terms and conditions to suppliers, in collaboration with subcontracting services.
3. Supplier Performance Management
o Evaluation and Improvement: Ensure supplier performance assessment and initiate corrective actions for continuous improvement.
o Negotiation: Manage RFQ processes and negotiate delegated purchasing categories to achieve optimal conditions. Negotiate the best conditions using a TCO approach to meet internal customers' business requirements.
o ESG Commitment: Promote and secure Axens' ESG policy and commitment.
4. Contribution to Development
o Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the purchasing department's continuous improvement plan (skills, training, newcomer coaching, processes, tools...).
o Knowledge Sharing: Promote and maintain relationships with relevant services for sharing knowledge, methods, market analysis, best practices, and engineering experiences.
