Robotics/Automation Engineer

About the role:

As a Robotics/Automation Engineer you will be responsible for developing robotic and automated welding and machining applications.

You will report to the Operations Manage and be located at Chaponnay.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and define trajectories across multiple interfaces in a complex environment

- Program equipment to execute welding strategies via trajectories (RobotStudio, Robot DK)

- Program and configure industrial programmable logic controllers (PLCs)

- Identify and implement improvements

- Write operating procedures and training materials

- Produce periodic technical reports and track interventions

- Ensure operator and equipment safety through appropriate programming

- Participate in preventive and corrective maintenance of automated equipment

- Provide technical support during equipment installation and commissioning

- Conduct validation tests and functional trials of automated systems

- Diagnose faults and perform interventions to restore equipment functionality

Qualifications:

- You will spend most of your time traveling to workshops or nuclear sites in France or abroad

- Depending on the project, you may work in shifts and/or on weekends

- The first assignment will be on the ITER project, mainly in Chaponnay during the development and qualification phase until 2027, then on the ITER site in Cadarache until the end of 2030

- Skills and Qualifications

- Master's degree (Bac +5) in automation, robotics, electrical engineering, or industrial engineering

- Proven experience in robotics and automation, preferably in welding or machining applications in field conditions

- Proficiency in RobotStudio, MasterCam, Robomaster, Robot DK

- Knowledge of ABB Robots & IRC5 and Siemens equipment is a plus

- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

- Autonomous, rigorous, and team-oriented

- Good command of English; Spanish is a plus
