Les missions du poste

Quandela is a European start up that provides photonic quantum computers that are modular, scalable, energy-efficient and accessible both on the cloud and on premise.

Our team of 85 employees, specialises in the development of both software and hardware solutions for a variety of quantum applications. We offer a wide range of services, from developing the most efficient and brightest single photons sources, to creating algorithms for quantum computers and providing cloud quantum computing solutions.

Quandela plays a pivotal role as a strategic partner in the quantum transformation of industrial sectors such as energy, finance, pharmaceuticals, and transportation. Furthermore, we are esteemed collaborators within the academic and research community.

- Following a successful €50 million fundraising in 2023, we are now scaling up our commercial ventures alongside our ongoing research endeavors.
- Quandela has been chosen to participate in the French Tech 2030 program, which aims to bolster French companies pioneering groundbreaking innovations.Quandela stands as a global leader in quantum computing, driven by groundbreaking technology and a strategic vision for scaling quantum solutions. The company's unique ability to offer both hardware and software solutions, along with its commitment to build energy efficient datacenters and scalability, positions it to play a key role in the next wave of innovation, and in many strategic and sovereign industrial sectors.

Description of the Project

Quantum information needs to be protected from errors. This is usually done by spreading the quantum information into a bigger system, called a quantum error-correcting code. The sources of errors and how they spread highly depend on the designed architecture. Quandela's fault-tolerant architecture is a hybrid spin-photon platform, called SPOQC, where information is encoded in the spin degree of freedom of semi-conductor quantum dots, which then interact through the photons they emit. The ability to create spin-photon entanglement makes the approach efficient and scalable. In this internship, you will join the team in its efforts to further improve the performances of the SPOQC architecture.

Topics of interest in the team include:

- Increase the fault-tolerant thresholds of SPOQC
- Reduce the footprint of the logical qubits
- Find the most efficient way to perform logical gates
- Estimate and optimise the resources needed to implement large-scale algorithms

Your Key Responsibilities:

- Review literature on quantum error-correcting codes, fault-tolerant protocols, simulations of Clifford circuits
- Conduct research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Implement code to simulate and benchmark techniques for fault tolerance
- Write an internal report on findings

Le profil recherché

- Swile Card (meal vouchers)

- 50% participation in transportation costs

- Possibility of remote work
- Internship Allowance between €1,200 and €1,400 per month

- 1,5 days off per month, cumulative
