Your future roleTake up a new challenge and put your technical and analytical expertise to good use in a strategic area. You will work with a collaborative, dynamic and innovative team and play a key role in improving customs management within the Alstom Group.On a day-to-day basis, you will work closely with central and local teams, including customs referents, technical teams and users of customs tools. You will help to optimise customs classification processes and provide operational support for customs management tools, while developing innovative solutions to improve the overall performance of the customs function.More specifically, you will be responsible for managing and optimising the customs classification of Preferred Part List (PPL) items, as well as updating and improving the Power BI tools used by the Customs function.We will be calling on you to1. analyse products and materials imported/exported by Alstom and classify them according to international and local customs nomenclature.2. work with technical teams, suppliers and internal contacts to gather the information needed for classification.3. define clear specifications for the classification of parts and propose efficient methods to streamline this process.4. participate in the maintenance and improvement of Power BI reports used by the Customs function.5. update the data in the customs tools and propose optimisations to improve their reliability and flexibility.6. providing first-level technical support for users of the customs tools and managing access to them7. contribute to cross-functional projects linked to customs management, such as the creation of new customs codes or the statistical analysis of existing data8. participate in visits to industrial or engineering sites to gain a better understanding of products and processes.
Your profileWe value passion and attitude over experience. That's why we don't expect you to have all the skills. Instead, we've put together a list of those we think will help you succeed and thrive in this role:- A student at engineering school or equivalent university course, with an interest in industry and technical products.- Knowledge or understanding of technical concepts and the basic units used in electronics, mechanics, electricity or physics.- Natural curiosity and the ability to ask the right questions to find out more about a complex subject.- Ability to prioritise actions to achieve set objectives.- Ability to analyse and segment problems into clear steps.- Proactive in identifying innovative and pragmatic solutions.- Proficiency in data management tools such as Excel and Power BI, or the ability to learn them quickly.- Autonomy in work and in acquiring new knowledge through internal resources such as Alstom University.- Knowledge of logistics or the supply chain would be a plus, but is not essential.
