We are looking for a Welding Engineer to support the Welding Service Lead on the client's Project. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering welding engineering services as outlined in this specification, ensuring compliance with project standards, quality, and safety requirements.
Profile
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Design Office Engineer with the following background and capabilities:
Certified Welding Engineer (IWE) with strong expertise in welding engineering and metallurgy.
Proven experience supporting project welding activities within the Oil & Gas sector.
Ability to work autonomously while coordinating effectively with other engineering disciplines.
Proficiency in standard engineering software tools (specific applications not specified).
Prior experience with Saipem and a good understanding of its processes and organization would be a significant advantage.
Mission:
Under the supervision of the Project Welding Service Lead, the Welding Engineer will perform the following tasks (non-exhaustive list):
Prepare and review welding documentation (WPS, PQR, WPQ, welding specifications, and procedures).
Plan, prepare, and follow up on welding qualification activities.
Provide technical support for offshore welding operations and monitor production performance.
Ensure compliance with project, client, and industry standards.
Contribute to technical reviews and participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
The position requires autonomy, technical rigor, and the ability to interface effectively with multiple stakeholders (engineering, procurement, quality, construction, and offshore teams).
Qualifications
Education & Certification:
International Welding Engineer (IWE) certification - mandatory.
Degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Welding Engineering (or equivalent).
Professional Experience:
Solid experience in welding engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
Experience with offshore fabrication and construction projects preferred.
Technical & Personal Skills:
Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and standards (ASME, ISO, API, etc.).
Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Other Requirements:
Location: Paris - La Défense (France).
Mobility: Occasional missions to Romania, onshore fabrication yards, and offshore sites during the offshore campaign.
Medical Fitness: Valid international medical certificate for onshore and offshore missions required from the start of the assignment.
BOSIET: Valid BOSIET certificate (or to be obtained within the first two months).
Language: Fluency in English (spoken and written) - mandatory.
