As a key member of the SBU Operations team, you will be responsible for driving operational performance across Safety, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Industrial Projects. You will define and implement the industrial strategy to ensure sustainable growth and contribute to the overall corporate strategy
Responsibilities
The Operations Manager is accountable of the following missions, for the factories, tollers and categories of his perimeter within a global scope:
- Drive Safety & Sustainability: Foster a strong safety culture and embed sustainable practices in daily operations and projects.
- Shape Industrial Strategy: Translate corporate objectives into capacity and capability plans aligned with business needs.
- Lead Strategic Initiatives: Propose and implement developments (R&I, investments, supply chain changes, tolling options) to support long-term growth.
- Optimize Operations: Ensure efficient SIOP processes, validate production plans, and maintain inventory targets for product availability.
- Enhance Customer Satisfaction: Improve OTIF performance, manage claims, and implement quality improvements.
- Supplier & Tolling Management: Coordinate with purchasing teams, lead reviews with key partners, and drive savings and innovation.
- Ensure Compliance & Quality: Maintain certifications, deliver on safety, volumes, quality, cost, and sustainability targets.
- Execute Industrial Projects: Oversee projects from feasibility to start-up, optimizing capex, opex, and environmental footprint.
- Promote Innovation: Stimulate short-term optimization and long-term improvements in competitiveness, safety, and quality.
- Risk Management: Implement robust controls and processes to manage operational risks and learn from incidents.
- Team Leadership: Engage, train, and develop teams, foster collaboration, and ensure transparent communication.
Qualifications
You come from the chemical engineering industry.
Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
Proven leadership experience in a similar industrial sector, with significant exposure to senior management or Board-level responsibilities.
Strong track record in business planning, performance management, and successful project execution.
Ability to translate strategic goals into operational plans and lead change programs.
Collaborative mindset and experience building effective partnerships.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Knowledge of industry regulations and diverse business functions (supply chain, manufacturing, project management, finance).
Understanding of customer needs and operational excellence.
Strong analytical skills for complex decision-making and ability to manage conflicting priorities under tight deadlines.
Empathy and ability to involve colleagues and customers in decisions.
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics.
Fluency in English; French and Spanish are a plus.
