My English Sister is an English language learning and childcare agency based in Lyon. Our mission is to support the English language development of French children through fun, personalised and creative lessons and activities. We are a small, dynamic team passionate about shaping the education of tomorrow.
The Opportunity
We are recruiting a Pedagogical Development Assistant for a 12-month alternance (work-study) program. This position offers a unique opportunity to continue your higher education with a fully funded degree in Educational/Instructional Engineering (Ingénierie pédagogique) while gaining meaningful hands-on experience in both education and business.
The apprenticeship allows you to divide your time between:
- Studying toward a degree in Ingénierie pédagogique (Pedagogical Engineering)
- Supporting pedagogical and educational development within the company
- Working with children by delivering private English tuition and childcare sessions
This role is an ideal stepping stone for a future career in education, training, EdTech, or learning design.
What You Will Learn
- Designing and creating engaging teaching materials
Develop activity guides, flashcards, worksheets, activity books and visual supports tailored to young learners.
- Contributing to the development of structured learning programmes
Help design teaching sequences, bilingual resources and age-appropriate educational content for children.
- Participating in creative pedagogical projects
Support exciting initiatives such as building My English Sister's first bilingual storybook, expanding our online learning offer, and designing new educational tools.
- Using digital tools and AI to enhance learning materials
Learn to create prompts, generate visuals, and integrate AI tools to improve efficiency and content quality.
- Supporting the implementation of teaching methods
Adapt and refine activities for different age groups, test materials during sessions, and gather feedback to improve resources.
- Collaborating with teachers and the marketing team
Work with our teaching team to ensure materials meet pedagogical needs, and with our marketing team to communicate these resources across social media, email and the website.
- Gaining hands-on experience teaching English to children
Deliver fun, creative sessions that encourage language development, while learning classroom management, communication and engagement strategies.
Le profil recherché
Candidate Requirements
- Fluent English (C2 level)
- Intermediate French (minimum B1)
- Experience working with children and a strong interest in education
- Must be under 26 years old for the duration of the contract
