Accounting Manager Responsable de la Comptabilité - Anglais Obligatoire H/F - Blue Finance

Blue Alliance (BA), an international NGO founded in 2016, manages Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) on behalf of governments and builds social enterprises in the Blue Economy.

BA currently manages 1,000,000 hectares of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) across four MPA networks in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Zanzibar. With plans to extend our management to six MPA networks by 2030, our goal is to protect 2,000,000 hectares of coral reef biodiversity, safeguard over 70 threatened marine species, and significantly improve the livelihoods of more than 50,000 coastal community members.

Our innovative model not only focuses on ecological conservation but also ensures the economic empowerment of local communities through long-term income generation from reef-positive businesses in ecotourism, community-based aquaculture, sustainable fisheries, and blue carbon credits. Each business reduces specific drivers of coral reef ecosystem degradation and contributes financially to the MPA management through dividends and/or revenue sharing.

We fund early-stage investments into these businesses through our blended finance facility. We work with like-minded donors and investors by effectively co-managing MPAs and building Blue Economy businesses in and around them.

Our multi-disciplinary senior central management team (14 staff) collaborates closely with on-the-ground MPA teams and reef-positive enterprise teams (120 staff). The international team focuses on revenue and conservation strategy execution, providing expertise in effective MPA management, blended finance, and business management in ecotourism, aquaculture, fisheries, and blue carbon.Blue Alliance Marine Protected Areas is a leading NGO dedicated to regenerating oceans at scale through marine conservation and blue economy initiatives. This role is at the heart of a growing NGOs and social enterprises ecosystem, with multiple international entities and diverse missions. You will ensure reliable numbers, and above all help international teams understand, adopt, and use financial information in a practical, actionable way.

A key part of the mission is to continue building and rolling out a management/analytical accounting model that will be used by both Finance and Operations to steer performance and support decision-making.

Main Responsibilities

- Continue building, implementing and deploying the management/analytical accounting framework (cost allocation logic, project/program profitability, KPIs), ensuring it is understood and used by Finance and Operations
- Ensure accurate and consistent accounting and robust intercompany transaction reconciliations across 12 entities
- Coordinate month-end / quarter-end / year-end closing processes
- Engage with local teams and external advisors on tax-related topics to understand implications without needing expertise in every local standard
- Manage and develop the accounting team (coaching, organization, priorities, continuous improvement)
- Support the organization in improving processes and data quality, working with NetSuite (ideally)

- Significant experience in management/analytical accounting, ideally in a multi-entity environment and/or donor-funded projects (NGOs, foundations, international groups, impact projects)
- Strong general accounting foundation and IFRS fundamentals
- Proficiency with financial systems/ERP and advanced Excel; experience in reporting implementation is a plus
