Technical Chief Officer - Technical Organisation And Coordination Of Slices-Ri H/F - INRIA - Institut national de recherche en sciences et technologies du numérique

The objective of the SLICES project is to create a European structure in the form of a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC), called SLICES-ERIC, for the operational and strategic management of the SLICES Research Infrastructure (SLICES-RI), which is included in the ESFRI roadmap since 2021.

Prior to the creation of the ERIC, the SLICES project is coordinated and managed by and has offices at Inria. As coordinator of the SLICES project, Inria is the employer of the technical chief officer.A technical chief officer for the SLICES-RI is being recruited to prepare the commissioning strategy and to coordinate and supervise the implementation of the SLICES-RI research infrastructure services during its preparatory phase in collaboration with the national nodes. The responsibilities described in this job description are designed to contribute to the operational success of the organisation throughout this preparatory phase.

10 years of experience in large-scale systems/infrastructure management or in digital infrastructure engineering/design and software development for operational platforms.
Knowledge of software engineering, best practices and software development tools (version management, documentation, testing, packaging, etc.).
Experience in team management and development.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in report and proposal writing.
Strong organisational skills: ability to set objectives, organise, prioritise and allocate technical tasks; ability to delegate and follow up.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, equivalent to level C1.
Additional skills:
Understanding of data management and governance principles, FAIR principles and knowledge of related EOSC services.
Knowledge of principles, standards, regulations and practices in sustainable architecture design.
Experience with operational technical support and writing technical documentation/tutorials is a plus.
