We support Big Pharma, biotech companies, and academic institutions in biomarker discovery, translational research, and precision medicine by delivering high-quality, scientifically rigorous, and innovative omics solutions.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Manager / Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) to define and execute the global business development strategy of the company. The position is 5% Strategy, 95% Operation. The ideal candidate will combine deep scientific and technical expertise in proteomics, genomics, and biomarkers with a strong commercial mindset and proven experience in selling complex scientific services to pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic clients.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the BDM/CBDO will play a critical role in driving revenue growth, expanding strategic partnerships, and positioning the company as a leading multi-omics CRO.
Key Responsibilities (role is 5% Strategic / 95% Operation)
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the global business development and commercial strategy aligned with the company's scientific capabilities and mid-term/long-term vision.
- Identify new market opportunities in proteomics, genomics, biomarker discovery, translational research, and precision medicine.
- Contribute to corporate strategy, pricing models, and service portfolio evolution.
Business Development & Sales
- Lead and grow business relationships with Big Pharma, biotech companies, and academic institutions.
- Drive the full sales cycle: lead generation, scientific discussions, proposal development, contract negotiation, and deal closing.
- Build long-term strategic partnerships and key accounts.
- Represent the company at scientific conferences, partnering events, and industry meetings.
Scientific & Technical Engagement
- Act as a scientific ambassador of the company, capable of engaging in high-level technical discussions with clients.
- Translate complex proteomics and genomics technologies into clear value propositions.
- Collaborate closely with scientific, bioinformatics, and operations teams to design customized solutions for clients.
- Ensure scientific credibility in discussions related to biomarkers, validation, data interpretation, and regulatory considerations.
Team & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Drive by example
- Build, mentor, and lead the business development and sales team.
- Work closely with R&D, project management, and executive teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Provide market feedback to guide technology development and service innovation.
Le profil recherché
Required Qualifications
Education & Scientific Expertise
- PhD, PharmD, MD, or MSc with significant experience in proteomics, genomics, molecular biology, or related life sciences.
- Strong understanding of:
- Proteomics technologies (e.g., Olink, quantitative proteomics, biomarker validation)
- Genomics technologies (e.g., NGS, transcriptomics, single cell analysis)
- Biomarker discovery, validation, and clinical/translational applications
- Clinical studies requirements (Ph1 to 3)
Professional Experience
- 8+ years of experience in business development, commercial roles, or scientific sales within a CRO, biotech, pharma, or life science services environment.
- Multiomics experience and clinical network in large pharma preferred
- Proven track record of closing complex, high-value deals with pharma and biotech clients.
- Previous leadership is a plus.
