Located in the Head office in Marseilles and reporting to the Group Accounting Director, you will lead a team of 25 people involved in general accounting and transactional activities. You will also coordinate accounting projects involving other stakeholders in Marseilles, our shared services centers in India and China and other multiple geographies.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
As Accounting Senior Manager, your mission will consist in:
Managing:
- Provide outstanding leadership that encourages and engages a team to deliver and play a key role in our company's transformation, develop a team of high-skilled finance/accounting professionals, providing training, mentorship and talent management/development.
- Be a role model who attracts and engages talent and develops successors for critical roles within Finance/Accounting
Improving:
- Play a key role in continuously improving accounting processes, closing efficiency, and data quality.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen internal controls, and enhance the reliability and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Acting as a driver of change, contribute to finance transformation projects, support the optimization of tools and systems, and promote best practices across the accounting teams, in close collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Auditing:
- Lead the evaluation of all significant accounting transactions, ensure timely and accurate production of internal and external reporting, maintain relevant controls to ensure accuracy of the data.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and adherence to all mandatory reporting obligations.
- Maintain key partners relationships, coordinate with external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audit process, and with tax teams especially in preparation of tax audits and year-end tax returns.
Analyzing & Reporting:
- Analyze supporting documentation to complex transactions.
- Prepare technical accounting memos supporting accounting positions and financial statements.
- Challenge and understand financial information so that issues are resolved and financial results are properly recorded and presented.
- Ensure clear, synthetic and timely communication with your manager, providing structured, reliable and insightful information to support decision-making.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- You have a French Chartered Accountant qualification (DEC) (highly preferred); DSCG or equivalent required.
- You have gained minimum 10 years of experience working in Accounting within an international corporation such as CAC40 and SBF120 companies, or audit firm (Big 4), public company and SOX.
- You bring an advanced understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (French GAAP and IFRS) but also a proven ability to document and support accounting conclusions.
- You are creative in problem solving and able to motivate others to implement new solutions in a context of a fast-evolving group.
- You have proven a strong leadership and management skills to lead teams across multiple organizations while demonstrating a collaborative approach, creating and maintaining efficient working relationships with all finance departments and business lines.
- You demonstrate strong communication skills, including an ability to translate complex technical issues into fundamental concepts, but also to work in a matrixed model, maintaining relationships with key partners at various levels.
