About the Company
Established in 2017, Infinite Orbits is a NewSpace company, based in Toulouse, pushing the boundaries of in-orbit services with cutting-edge spacecraft driven by its own Rendez-Vous solution, an advanced Autonomous Vision-Based Navigation Solution. IO has two generations of missions
"Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO. Our first, OG-1 was launched on 1 May 2023, the second is launching in 2025 and the third third launching in 2026.
"Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.
We are seeking a motivated Electronics Engineering Intern to join our dynamic and international team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in building new satellite platforms and Space rendezvous payloads that are shaping the future of in-orbit services.
Job Description
- Design PCB schematics and layouts for space-borne cameras and computers
- Coordinate with suppliers to manufacture PCBs and ensure the mission requirements are met
- Perform quality assurance checks of high-end devices
- Assemble electronic components/modules onto the subsystem/system
- Space qualification of electronics including radiation analysis and tests
- Document design work, test results, and other relevant information
- Support the embedded software team with hardware related issues
- Lab work such as PCB repairs, cable assemblies, testing and installation of components.
Le profil recherché
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering theory and principles such as circuit analysis and digital electronics
- Experience with schematics and PCB layout design software such as EAGLE or Altium
- Familiarity with electronic component manufacturing processes such as surface mount technology (SMT)
- Knowledge of ESD best practices and protections.
- Experience using lab equipment: multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron, microscope...
- Programming skills. Preferably in Python, low-level languages (C, C++) or hardware description languages (VHDL, Verilog)
- Excellent abstraction & problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English.
- Students doing Masters currently based in France or EU citizens residing anywhere and available for a minimum of 5 to 6 months internship.
- PhD students residing anywhere and available for a minimum of 3 months.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with electrical diagrams and harness design software
- Understanding of the space environment and its effects on electronics, as well as mitigation methods.
- Familiarity with different standards for electronics and space qualifications (ECSS, ESCC, QML...)
