About the role
Transfer Pricing is a key area of focus for tax authorities worldwide and a strategic topic for the Group. In parallel, strong tax expertise is required during the tendering phase to properly structure intercompany flows, assess tax costs and risks, and secure compliance throughout project execution.
As Transfer Pricing & Tender Taxation Director, you will have global responsibility for defining and leading the Group's Transfer Pricing strategy and for supporting the business on all tender-related taxation matters. You will manage complex intercompany flows (goods, services, financing and intangibles) representing approximately €10bn, and act as a key business partner to finance, legal and operational teams across the organization.
Key responsibilities
1. Global Transfer Pricing strategy & governance
Define and continuously evolve the Group's global Transfer Pricing strategy and policy, in line with business strategy and changes in the international tax environment.
Set profit allocation principles and transfer pricing methodologies across the value chain.
Ensure alignment with OECD guidelines and local Transfer Pricing regulations.
Partner closely with finance and non-finance leadership to understand strategic, commercial and operational drivers.
Ensure Transfer Pricing principles are embedded in non-tax policies, guidelines and processes.
2. Implementation, tools & financial impact
Lead the implementation of the Transfer Pricing policy worldwide.
Develop and deploy tools, guidelines, trainings, controls and internal frameworks to ensure consistent application.
Oversee the contractual framework and fine-tune policies regionally when required.
Assess the impact of Transfer Pricing on Group financials and entity-level P&L.
3. Controversy management & dispute resolution
Lead and support all Transfer Pricing controversy matters globally.
Define strategies and support tax teams on audits, disputes and negotiations.
Drive Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs), Mutual Agreement Procedures (MAPs) and similar processes.
Manage external advisors and coordinate interactions with tax authorities.
4. Documentation, compliance & transactions
Oversee preparation and maintenance of Transfer Pricing documentation (Master File, Local Files).
Provide Transfer Pricing expertise for M&A transactions, restructurings and post-acquisition integration.
Support related initiatives linked to TP concepts (e.g. IP structures, IP box regimes).
5. Tender taxation support
Provide tax guidance on medium and highcritical tenders.
Review tax assumptions, costs and risks embedded in bids.
Manage deviations from standard tax policies during project execution.
Identify and mitigate Permanent Establishment risks.
6. Leadership & team development
Lead and develop the Transfer Pricing and Tender Taxation team.
Define governance frameworks, priorities and performance objectives.
Build a high-performing, trusted expert team within a matrix organization.
Profile & qualifications
Education
University degree or Business School graduate in Taxation, Finance or Economics.
Excellent command of English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
Additional languages are a plus.
Experience
12 to 20 years of relevant experience in Transfer Pricing and international taxation.
Background in a multinational group and/or a Big Four firm.
Strong experience in complex, multi-country tax environments and matrix organizations.
Skills & competencies
Deep understanding of value chains and global business models.
Strong strategic thinking and ability to manage complex TP issues across jurisdictions.
Proven leadership and influencing skills, including with non-tax stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax topics to non-specialists.
