As a Indirect Category Sourcing Director (m/f/d) you will report to the Sourcing Vice President based in Blieskastel, Obernai or Paris for a permanent contract.
In your role, you lead and develop category strategies across the business, ensuring alignment with overall objectives and delivering sustainable value. You combine strategic thinking with strong execution to drive cost efficiency, supplier performance, and continuous improvement.
Your responsibilities
Category strategy & execution
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business priorities
- Ensure effective execution through structured processes and clear performance metrics
- Promote best practices and continuous improvement within category management
Stakeholder & supplier management
- Collaborate closely with business partners to align sourcing strategies with operational needs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
- Drive supplier performance, collaboration, and long-term value creation
Cost, risk & performance management
- Identify and deliver cost optimization and value creation opportunities
- Manage sourcing risks and ensure compliance with policies and regulations
- Monitor category performance using KPIs and adjust strategies where required
Market intelligence
- Analyze market trends, supplier landscapes, and industry developments
- Leverage insights to adapt sourcing and negotiation strategies
Team leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team of category professionals
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and performance-driven culture
- Support team development through regular feedback, goal setting, and development initiatives
Continuous improvement
- Drive improvements in sourcing processes and methodologies
- Collaborate with internal experts to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Your profile
- Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Solid experience in category management or strategic sourcing
- Strong understanding of procurement strategies, supplier management, and market dynamics
- Leadership experience with the ability to develop and guide teams
- Analytical mindset with strong commercial awareness
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in English (additional languages such as French or German are a plus)
- Strategic mindset combined with a pragmatic, hands-on approach
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to balance long-term vision with operational delivery
- Collaborative and results-oriented working style
