- Define and maintain Critical Data Element (CDE) definitions, ownership, and quality baselines.

- Define governance requirements for metadata, cataloging, and data quality tooling; partner with Data Engineering/IT on platform ownership and operations.
- Establish data retention, archival, and disposal policies aligned with GDPR and enterprise compliance standards.
- Collaborate with IT and Security teams to ensure data access controls, encryption, and audit trails are in place.

Policy Development & Compliance

- Draft, review, and maintain AI and Data policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (EU AI Act, GDPR, industry-specific mandates).
- Conduct compliance gap assessments and recommend remediation plans.
- Provide governance training and awareness programs for business and technical stakeholders.
- Maintain a governance knowledge base and decision log for transparency and auditability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with the AI Solutions Architect to validate that technical designs meet governance and compliance requirements.
- Work with the AI & Data Transformation Lead to embed AI & Data governance frameworks into capability-building programs and community initiatives.
- Collaborate with Legal and Information Security teams to ensure alignment on risk management and regulatory obligations.
- Support Value Streams and Support Functions with advisory for AI and Data governance.
- Engage with external auditors, regulators, and industry bodies as AI and Data governance subject matter expert.

Success in this role means:

- Governance frameworks adopted across AI and data initiatives
- Audit-ready compliance evidence and risk posture
