What they need

Context

We are seeking an experienced Qualys TotalAppSec Expert to lead the assessment, optimization, and enhancement of our Qualys platform, with a primary focus on Web Application Scanning (WAS) and the broader TotalAppSec ecosystem. This role provides expert-level support in reviewing the current implementation, identifying gaps and inefficiencies, and implementing improvements to ensure the platform delivers meaningful value to the business while remaining scalable, maintainable, and aligned with security best practices.

Missions

• Assess the existing Qualys configuration, architecture, processes, and operational model
• Review the effectiveness of the current WAS and TotalAppSec implementation
• Improve application onboarding, scanning coverage, reporting, authentication mechanisms, and operational processes
• Ensure the platform meets business requirements and provides actionable security insights
• Define and implement scalability improvements to support future growth
• Increase automation and reduce operational overhead where possible
• Establish governance, standards, documentation, and best practices

Objectives and Deliverables

• Review inventory and coverage of web applications
• Assess application onboarding and offboarding processes
• Review scan configurations, option profiles, crawler settings, and authentication methods
• Improve authenticated scanning capabilities, including SSO and complex authentication scenarios
• Optimize scan scheduling, performance, coverage, and accuracy
• Reduce false positives and improve vulnerability prioritization
