What they need
A leading international organisation operating in a highly regulated and multi-jurisdictional environment is looking for an experienced AML / Financial Crime Compliance Consultant to reinforce its Group Corporate Compliance function.
The consultant will operate within the second line of defence, providing independent oversight, advice and challenge to business and first-line compliance teams.
The main focus will be on AML/CFT, KYC/CDD, fraud and sanctions compliance, with occasional support on ethics and conduct topics such as anti-bribery and corruption, gifts and entertainment, and conflicts of interest.
The assignment requires a hands-on compliance professional who can combine subject-matter expertise, control capabilities, project delivery and stakeholder management.4
The consultant will be responsible for:
Performing and reviewing KYC, customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence files;
Challenging first-line assessments and decisions for higher-risk customers;
Conducting second-line controls and thematic reviews;
Testing the application of financial crime policies and procedures;
Supporting fraud risk assessments and fraud case documentation;
Contributing to sanctions screening and escalation processes;
Providing day-to-day AML/CFT and financial crime compliance advice to business teams;
Monitoring regulatory developments relating to AML/CFT, fraud and sanctions;
Maintaining regulatory watch documentation and preparing impact assessments;
Contributing to the implementation of new AML regulatory requirements;
Documenting findings and monitoring remediation plans;
Preparing periodic reporting for Corporate Compliance management;
Supporting compliance transformation and tooling initiatives;
Contributing to the selection, implementation, calibration, migration or optimisation of AML-related tools;
Coordinating stakeholders across Group and local entities.
Depending on priorities and workload, the consultant may also provide occasional support on anti-bribery and corruption, gifts and entertainment, conflicts of interest and insider-list monitoring.
The expected deliverables include:
KYC, CDD and EDD review files;
Financial crime control plans and thematic review reports;
Control findings and remediation tracking;
Fraud case documentation and fraud prevention materials;
Regulatory watch entries and impact assessments;
Contributions to AML regulatory implementation projects;
Input to AML tooling and compliance transformation initiatives;
Periodic management reporting;
Ad hoc contributions to ethics and conduct registers.
Le profil recherché
Profile wanted
The successful candidate should demonstrate:
5 to 8 years of experience in AML/CFT, KYC/CDD, financial crime, fraud or sanctions compliance;
Proven experience in a second-line-of-defence role;
Hands-on experience reviewing KYC, CDD and enhanced due diligence files;
Strong knowledge of AML/CFT and sanctions compliance frameworks;
Experience with compliance monitoring, control testing and thematic reviews;
Experience documenting findings and tracking remediation actions;
Familiarity with fraud risk assessment and sanctions screening processes;
Experience with AML tooling, including transaction monitoring, screening, case management or workflow systems;
Exposure to tool selection, implementation, calibration, migration or optimisation;
Proven experience contributing to projects from scoping through delivery;
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills;
Ability to work autonomously across Group and local teams;
Proactive, solution-oriented and delivery-focused mindset;
Previous experience in banking, financial services, payments, fintech or another regulated environment;
Fluent in English
