Airbus is looking for a Flight Performance Engineer (f/m) to join our Flight Dynamics and Performance department based in Toulouse, France.

You will be part of a team developing high speed aircraft performance models for Airbus aircraft. As part of the High Speed Performance team, you will be involved in performance model building and data analysis aiming at supporting aircraft design evaluation, certification and in-service operations.

Your challenges:

  • Leading the extended Performance community as a collaborative team (aircraft performance design office including Guarantees, Aerodynamics, Engine Performance, Flight Tests, Flight Ops Support & Training Stds, Future Projects, Skywise) for a common goal and for the benefit of our product.
  • Build (integrating in particular aero & engine) and validate high speed performance models (IFP) through flight test (preparation, follow-up, and analysis) across all aircraft families (A350, A380, LR, SA, WB) ; IFP models are then delivered to airlines.
  • Perform high-speed performance studies : data for design / studies / performance status to support program Overall Aircraft Design (OAD), studies in standard conditions or with failures to support different ATA, marketing, customer support, performance monitoring in acceptance, continued airworthiness safety investigations, etc.
  • Interrogate in-service aircraft data to understand airline operations, identify fuel economy opportunities and new services tailored to airlines.
  • Contribute to environmental certification dossiers (CO2).
  • Define new Top Level Aircraft Requirements (TLARs) and develop next-generation performance tools.
  • Define new Top Level Aircraft Requirements (TLARs), prepare the future (new performance model, new tools, ways of working with stakeholders, new technologies like SAF).
  • Deliver on Time / Cost / Quality, speak up in advance if issue.

Your boarding pass:

  • Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Previous experience in aircraft performance, flight mechanics, aerodynamics, or engine performance.
  • Proficiency in IT and Data Management tools (Skywise, Python, IFP/AMPLI/OSMA).
  • Knowledge or background interest in Artificial Intelligence.
  • Negotiation level of English.
