We are hiring a Lead Infrastructure Engineer
Our client is looking for a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to take full ownership of the company's IT infrastructure across Europe. At the intersection of performance, security, and resilience, you will design, implement, and oversee the systems architecture required to operate thousands of real-time energy assets distributed across multiple countries.
In a critical and constantly evolving environment, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability of technical platforms, supporting product innovation, and enabling business growth. You will work closely with the DEVOPS, Data, and Cybersecurity teams to deliver a modern, scalable infrastructure that meets the regulatory demands of the energy sector.
Your Role
As Lead Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a central role in designing, evolving, and securing our infrastructure landscape. You will ensure systems are secure, resilient, and scalable-powering the real-time control of hundreds of megawatts of flexible energy assets across European markets.
Reporting directly to the CTO and working within a collaborative international team, your time will BE split across infrastructure architecture, team leadership, and DEVOPS enablement.
Your Responsibilities
Infrastructure - 60%
- Design, deploy, and maintain a hybrid infrastructure (currently based on AWS : ECS, EC2, RDS) with on-premise components, and support the planned migration to GCP in 2026.
- Ensure system availability, resilience, and security.
- Lead modernization efforts : Infrastructure-as-a-Service, observability, automated failover, scalability.
Team Leadership - 30%
- Manage and mentor a team of two infrastructure engineers.
- Define clear objectives, foster individual growth, and build a positive, high-performing team culture.
- Act as the liaison between the infrastructure team and the broader tech organization.
DEVOPS Best Practices - 10%
- Promote and implement DEVOPS methodologies (CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring).
- Work closely with backend developers to streamline deployment pipelines.
- Support infrastructure adoption that enables faster, safer, and more reliable releases.
Profile Sought
Key Technical Skills (Must-Have)
- Solid expertise in cloud architecture (GCP preferred), networking, and system security.
- Strong background in Linux, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization.
- Fluent in French (spoken and written), and professional-level English.
Nice-to-Have
- Knowledge of Pulumi, Kubernetes.
- Backend development experience (Java/Kotlin is a plus).
