Established in 2017, Infinite Orbits is a NewSpace company, based in Toulouse, pushing the boundaries of in-orbit services with cutting-edge spacecraft driven by its own Rendez-Vous solution, an advanced Autonomous Vision-Based Navigation Solution. IO has two generations of missions

"Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO. Our first, OG-1 was launched on 1 May 2023, the second is launching in 2025 and the third third launching in 2026.

"Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.

The Quality & Process System Engineer designs, deploys, and maintains the ecosystem of processes and tools that structures systems engineering and quality at Infinite Orbits, across the entire satellite level (mechanical, thermal, electrical, RF, software). He or she applies software development best practices-version control, design review, continuous integration, versioned documentation-to hardware and systems engineering, combining a knowledge base, version control/CI, and tailored internal applications. This role is central to structuring the scaling of engineering across Infinite Orbits programs.

Job Description

Design & Deployment of the Engineering Management System

• Design and deploy a process and tooling ecosystem for systems engineering and quality, combining a versioned knowledge base, version control and continuous integration (GitLab type), and custom internal applications for requirements management, configuration, quality, and programmatic management.
• Define an "as code" engineering architecture (documentation, requirements, traceability matrices, procedures) by adapting software development practices (version control, pull request review, CI/CD) across all satellite engineering disciplines.
• Define, develop and maintain necessary internal tools (scripts, web applications, automations) for requirements management, configuration tracking, and non-conformance management.
• Define and deploy document management and configuration control processes (baselining, versioning, approval) across the entire product lifecycle.

Quality & Processes

• Ensure the consistency of processes and tools with the quality standards established by the company.
• Train and support engineering teams in adopting new tools and processes.

Cross-functional Support

• Work in close collaboration with systems, software, quality, and IT teams to define tooling needs.
• Ensure integration of deployed tools with the existing ecosystem (project management, ERP, simulation tools).
• Provide support, ongoing maintenance, and security for deployed tools.

Requirements

• Master's degree in engineering (Bac +5) in computer science, systems engineering, aerospace, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience combining systems engineering (or quality) and software development.
• Strong experience in web development (Python/Django or equivalent) and version control/CI-CD tools (Git, GitLab).
• Experience implementing versioned knowledge management tools (Markdown, Obsidian, or equivalent) applied to engineering.
• Knowledge of systems engineering practices (requirements management, traceability, configuration management) and ECSS standards.
• Strong appetite for automation and continuous process improvement.
• Excellent technical and educational communication skills, both oral and written, in professional English.
• Nationality: French nationality is mandatory due to project requirements.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience implementing a DevOps or "Engineering as Code" environment in a hardware or space context.
• Experience in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality environment.
• Experience in a NewSpace environment or fast-growing startup.
